My name is Kristy Herr, and I’ve been teaching 6th-grade Social Studies in a traditional middle school setting for the past 28 years. I truly enjoy working with the preteen age group—they keep me young! That said, it’s always refreshing to take a break and connect with more mature learners through PLS Classes.

I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education with a minor in Early Childhood from Millersville University. I also hold a Master of Education in Elementary Education from Millersville University and a second Master of Education in Online Teaching from Wilkes University. During the online teaching program, I had the opportunity to take several PLS courses. I was so impressed with the experience that I began facilitating PD Center classes in 2023. These courses help me stay up to date with current trends and technologies.
I live in Annville, Pennsylvania, close to Hersheypark—the Sweetest Place on Earth! My husband, Robert, and I have been married for over 28 years, and we recently traveled to Germany to celebrate. We met in high school and haven’t been apart since. We have two sons—Connor, who is studying to become a forester, and Dagen, who is training to become an electrician. As a family, we enjoy spending time at our cabin in Sullivan County, PA, where we love to be outdoors biking, hiking, kayaking, or swimming.
When I’m not outside, you’ll find me reading or binge-watching Netflix. I also love animals and currently have three Siberian Huskies, a new kitten, and a variety of other critters.
