Summer break represents a much deserved time of rest and relaxation for teachers across the country. It also offers a great opportunity for you to brush up on your core skills, learn about new and inventive teaching best practices, and dig deeper into what you are passionate about.

There are many different ways to grow and learn more this summer, such as traveling, reading, or even taking a summer class. Another idea is a simple one: try listening to a podcast!

Did you know that there are many podcasts available for educators and several benefits to learning in this format? Podcasts can be listened to from just about anywhere: in the car, on a plane, on the beach, in the bathtub, poolside, or even at the dentist. Podcasts also have the ability inform, educate, and entertain, all at the same time. Emma Rodero from Pompeu Fabra University found that podcast listeners become more imaginative because they “generate more vivid images in their minds and have high levels of emotional involvement in the story.”1 In a world competing for your attention, podcasts may even help sharpen your listening skills. And the best benefit? Most podcasts are FREE!

With thousands of podcasts out there, where should you begin? Our team at PLS Classes found a handful terrific podcasts for educators, to help you learn more this summer. Our list includes podcasts as short as two minutes and up to an hour, giving you options to best fit your schedule.
